How many children are in a class?Primary aged classes have a maximum of 8 children, this is determined on a class-to-class basis. Holiday art classes have a maximum of 8 children, this is determined on a class-to-class basis.

Where are we located?We are a home-based studio located at 32 Rainbow Street, Kingsford (5mins walk from Rainbow St Public School and 5mins walk from Juniors Kingsford light rail and bus station).

Is Rainbow Street Art Studio easily accessible by Public Transport?Yes, we are 5mins walk from the Juniors Kingsford Light Rail station. Juniors Kingsford station is 10min ride from Central station via the light rail L3 line. There is a light rail departing every 8 minutes. There is also a 358 bus service running along Rainbow St from Sydenham to Kingsford. There are bus stops on both the corners of Willis & Rainbow streets and Kennedy & Rainbow streets, both 2mins walk from our studio.

Is there parking nearby?Yes. There is free parking on Rainbow St, and in nearest cross streets Willis Street and Kennedy Street, all within <5min walk from our door. There are 4 free visitors car spaces on the building site.

Dropping & collecting childrenWe have intercom release lock entry to our premises. All new students need to be signed in on arrival. Children will only be released to their parents/carers unless otherwise arranged.

Are there Online classes?Yes! We offer online classes for an Art Therapy course, our Colour Theory course and Design Principles course. The times/dates/prices are all found on our bookings page. Occasionally we allow a child to attend a term or holiday class online, if they are unable to attend the lesson in person. This is negotiated on a case-by-case basis with Rachel.

Does Rainbow Street Art Studio accept NSW Government Creative Kids vouchers?Yes we do, for all children of families who are eligible for the 2024 Creative Kids vouchers.

Do the teachers have a WWCC (Working with Children Check) and First Aid Certificate?Yes, our teacher Rachel Fairfax has a valid NSW Working with Children Check and is aware of our Child Safety Code of Conduct. Rachel also holds a current First Aid Certificate.

Are there any discounts on fees?Term Students • Yes! 10% discount for a sibling child enrolled in the same term class Holiday Students • Yes! 10% discount for a sibling child enrolled in the same holiday class

Does Rainbow Street Art Studio offer a trial class for term students?Yes! We offer a trial class at 50% of the class price to all new term students. Trial classes are made up of 1 lesson (either 2 hours after school or 2 hours on Saturday). This allows children to experience one of our art lessons and get a feel of what we offer, prior to committing to a term.

If classes are full can my child go on a waiting list?Yes, we hold a waiting list. You may request the days/lessons you are interested in, and we will contact you when places become available. We offer places in order of applications received.

Are all art materials included in the cost of the class?For children’s classes, yes all art materials are included in the cost of the class Teenage and adult classes A simple materials list will be provided prior to the first lesson to students who enroll in teenage and adult classes.

Can children take their artwork home?Yes, all artworks created by the children belong to the children and may be taken home, when completed. Some artworks may take a few lessons/weeks to complete, during the term, and when complete may be taken home.

May I stay with my child?Classes of school aged children have a ‘drop and go’ policy. On request, permission maybe granted for a parent to remain for 15mins of the first attending lesson of young children, if required.

How do I book holiday classes?Bookings can be made online via our website or via email to rainbowstreetart@gmail.com or via whatsapp text to Rachel on 0414 284 384. Our website also has a booking system where you may book online.

Do I need to book consecutive days or a full day during the holiday program?No, you may pick and mix up the classes you would like to book your children into

What time do holiday classes run?9.30am - 12.30am and 1.30pm - 4.30pm during the school holidays.

Is there before or after class care during school holiday classes?Yes, we offer before class care from 7am and after class care until 6pm at a cost of $15 per hour, per child, during the school holidays.

If I book a morning and afternoon holiday class on a single day will children be supervised at lunchtime?Yes. 1 hour lunchtime supervision is provided for children remaining for a full day during our school holiday classes. This is free of charge. We ask children to come with hats, drink bottles and packed snacks/lunches, just like they would take for a day at school. Weather permitting, we walk with children to Paine Reserve on Rainbow Street, about 5 mins walk from our Rainbow Street Art Studio premises. Parents will be asked to approve this lunchtime excursion upon your child’s enrollment.
